Google Stadia’s first game that responds directly to touch

This year was comparatively good for the Gamers as many new technological trends and devices related to Gaming were introduced to the world. The latest news related to the new technological trend related to Gaming is from Google Stadia. Stadia is a cloud gaming service developed and operated by Google. It is said that Stadia is capable of streaming video games to players up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second with support for high-dynamic range (HDR). This is done via the numerous data centers of the company. This newest game which is going to be launched by Stadia is named HUMANKIND. This is introduced as a 4X game.

4X is the abbreviation used for the four words Explore, Expand, Exploit, Exterminate. It is a subgenre of strategy-based computer and board games and includes both turn-based and real-time strategy titles. This newest game to be introduced by Stadia has the capability to respond to the touch instead of responding to the controller. As reported by 9to5 Google, this HUMANKIND game will introduce a direct touch method to Stadia for mobile. Until now, Stadia had introduced only two ways to play the games. Users either should connect a controller or a play from a keyboard and mouse or the user should use the touchscreen-based “controller” of the Stadia mobile version. This newest game to be launched by Stadia has truly got the potential to upside down the Gaming world. Players no more have to rely on controllers to play and enjoy HUMANKIND. Android users are already granted the opportunity to play the game with “direct touch” whereas the development of the “direct touch” for iOS is in progress.

Developing this “direct touch” is not as simple as it implies. Stadia will have to trace your finger pressings relative to the video stream and that data should be sent back to the cloud server, which should be done really fast. In a game like HUMANKIND, accuracy plays a critical role. So, Stadia will have to take extra care over this matter.

This super-duper game is scheduled to be launched during this week and you can easily try Stadia’s direct touch by opening up HUMANKIND on your mobile or tab once it is launched. You won’t be needing a controller this time to enjoy this game. After that, you are given the chance to switch to the “direct control” option. Your finger gestures will be separately tracked by the game as follows.

  • Tap: Tap with one finger to select.
  • Hold: Hold with one finger to preview.
  • Two Finger Tap: Tap with two fingers to cancel.
  • Three Finger Tap: Tap with three fingers to toggle the pause menu.
  • Drag: Drag with one finger to move.

Stadia also provides you with the State Share option which is an exclusive feature of them. State Share lets the players capture a unique game state, which is playable and which could be shared with friends via a link to the gameplay screenshot or the video clip.  You can imprint the challenges you have completed, your memory events, archeological sites you’ve left behind into a unique state share link. When you share that link with your friends, they can start the game from there.

This exciting HUMANKIND was launched on 17th August and you are given the opportunity to place pre-orders as well. Gamers! Keep waiting for this amazing game and don’t forget to hit the brakes at BuzyFeed for more interesting updates!
