Recently Facebook announced that they are going to add end-to-end encryption for voice calls and video calls in Facebook Messenger. They further declared that some users may see new test features related to the encryption process when they use Messenger. End-to-end encryption is not a new thing for Facebook Messenger as it was available for text messages since 2016. When Facebook added the “secret conversation” option to the Messenger app, it became active for the users. Now, this feature is available for voice and video calls as well. Facebook further explained that the reason for adding this feature for the calls was because the number of video calls taken via Messenger has increased a great deal. This end-to-end encryption is already available for the chat app of Facebook – WhatsApp.

Facebook Inc. added a new feature for their chat app – WhatsApp as well. This new trending feature will help you to carry your chat history with you when you switch the phone. That means, when you switch from Android to iOS, you won’t lose your chat history anymore. The voice notes, images, chats will now be available with your new device once you switch. However, this feature covers all the transfers between iOS and Android, but an exact date hasn’t been declared when this feature is available for all the devices. Earlier, it was annoying to switch the mobiles as WhatsApp don’t allow the transferring of data between mobile operating system. Of course, you have the backup option, but, when you back up data from Android, the data will be backed up to the Drive whereas when you do the same from an iPhone, data will be backed up into the iCloud. Now this problem is solved as this new feature enables you to bring your chats with you when you switch the mobile operating systems.

Facebook also updated its data transfer tool. Now they have provided two new destinations for all the information related to your Facebook account and those two destinations are Photobucket and the Google Calendar. Facebook is working on making this process simpler and they further want to add some features as well. These new destinations should have the capability to easily trace the status of each transfer, start multiple transfers to the same location, and filter through and select what data you want to move.

So that’s all folks! You must stay alert with BuzyFeed to have many more interesting updates like these in the future!
