The Remake of the Mini Version of Amiga 500

Commodore International was an American home computer and electronics manufacturer. It was founded by Jack Tramiel. During the Consumer Electronics Show which was held in January of 1987, Commodore announced Amiga 500. Since the Amiga 500 was one of the most embraced home computer brands of many people. It contains the same Motorola 68000 as the Amiga 1000, as well as the same graphics and sound coprocessors, but is in a smaller case similar to that of the Commodore 128. However, after decades, Retro Games Ltd, a reputed gaming company made up of people with a combined games industry experience of over 100 years, is planning to remake Commodore’s Amiga 500.

The Amiga 500 was the most successful model of the PCs of the Amiga family. Once it appeared in the mid 80’s it was able to attract a huge population towards its gaming system. The advanced graphics and the higher capability in the sound system used when developing A500 was the success factor that helped to attract a huge audience. Retro Games have given the name “A500 Mini “ for the remake of Amiga 500. People can purchase A500 mini for a price of $139.99 / £119.99. The remake has added a 2-button mouse and an 8-button gamepad to the new version – A500 mini. This new version will come to your hands with 25 pre-loaded games. Out of those 25 games which are supposed to load, only 12 games are announced yet and those 12 games are Alien Breed 3D, Another World, ATR: All Terrain Racing, Battle Chess, Cadaver, Kick Off 2, Pinball Dreams, Simon the Sorcerer, Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe, The Chaos Engine, Worms: The Director’s Cut, Zool: Ninja of the “Nth” Dimension. Users are given the chance to use a USB flash drive and load their ROMs to A500 mini. The full WHDLoad support is also available in A500 mini which allows the players to install the games of Amiga to their hard disks. Since the system of A500 mini is so small, you will not be able to use its keyboard, but you are given the facility to plug a standard PC keyboard and use it whenever it is required in playing games. The other options which are available for A500 mini are, a save game function, selectable 50Hz or 60Hz screen refresh, CRT filter, and multiple scaling options.
