Apple’s Find My App has become a very useful app for users as it allows you to find the misplaced/stolen phone enabling you to either retrieve it or to contact the relevant authorities. This Find My app has expanded to a variety of other objects especially via Apple’s AirTags, it has become even more useful.
iOS 15 is the fifteenth and current major release of the iOS mobile operating system developed by Apple for its iPhone and iPod Touch products. This was announced at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference on June 7, 2021, and was released to the public on September 20, 2021. This iOS 15 has a new feature that enables you to find your lost/stolen iPhone even if the battery is less and it’s switched off. If you have an iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro / iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 12 / iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro / iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13 / iPhone 13 Mini or iPhone 13 Pro / iPhone 13 Pro Max; you will be able to find the shut-off phone. The phrase “iPhone Findable After Power Off” you see under the power–down when you switch off your phone will hint to you that this feature is enabled in your iPhone.
The Procedure
- First, go to your settings, tap on your name, and then on “Find My.”
- Then, tap on “Find My iPhone.”
- After that toggle “Find My iPhone” on. If you have upgraded to iOS 15, you can also activate “Find My network,” which will let you find your phone even if it’s offline. “Send Last Location” will send the location of your iPhone to your Apple account when the battery is about to die.
If you still can’t find the phone even after following the aforementioned steps, try tracking it either by using the Find My app on a Mac/another iPhone or on any browser by going to iCloud.com/find and signing in using your Apple ID. If you use the web version you will see a green dot that indicates the location of your iPhone. When you select the dot and then the circled “i” (for information), you’ll be given the choice of having your phone play a sound, erasing it, or putting it on “Lost Mode.” If you enable the “Lost Mode,” you can enter a phone number where you can be reached and a message like “Please return this phone ASAP!”
Now, iPhone users haven’t got anything to worry about as they can locate their phone easily even if the battery of the iPhone is dead. So, that’s all for today’s tech news, folks! Let’s meet soon with another interesting article!
