Less than 24 hours after the Republican nominee’s assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania campaign rally, an Australian politician has called for the deportation of Tenacious D, the comedy-rock duo made up of Kung Fu Panda actors Jack Black and Kyle Gass. Gass reportedly joked onstage during a Sunday concert in Sydney that he wished for the death of former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Gass said this as a birthday wish when he celebrated his 64th birthday at the concert: “Don’t miss Trump next time.” The video of this scene is now shared on social media.
Ralph Babet, a senator for Victoria of the United Australia Party, has posted about this scene like this:
“There is no place in Australia for those who wish for the assassination of others. I condemn in the strongest possible way the call to political violence by Tenacious D in Sydney on Sunday.”
He also mentioned that Jack Black and Kyle Gass should be removed from the country immediately. “To advocate and or wish for the assassination of a President is egregious, disgusting, filthy, evil, and not acceptable in any way, shape or form.” The senator has mentioned.
“This was not a joke; he was deadly serious when he wished for the death of the President,” Ralph Babet said. “Anything less than deportation is an endorsement of the shooting and attempted assassination of Donald J. Trump.”
People have shared their opinions on this through social media. Kyle Gass posted on Instagram about his statement.
“The line I improvised onstage Sunday night in Sydney was highly inappropriate, dangerous, and a terrible mistake. I don’t condone violence of any kind, in any form, against anyone.”
Black and Gass have both previously been outspoken in their opposition to Trump.
