Hamas Chief Ismail Haniyeh Reported Assassinated in Iran Amid Israel-Gaza Conflict

Hamas has reported that their political leader, Ismail Haniyeh, was killed in what they said was “a perfidious Zionist raid” against his residence in Tehran. Iran’s president swore that Israel would regret the deed of this “cowardly action,” and Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei declared it Tehran’s duty to avenge the murder of Haniyeh.

Sixty-two-year-old Ismail Haniyeh is a Palestinian politician who is widely considered to be the chief political leader of Hamas, which has governed the Gaza Strip since 2007. He is the current chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau.

The Israeli side has yet to comment on this. The Israeli military said that they are conducting a situational assessment.

Also, an Israeli strike in Beirut killed three people, including two children, and wounded 74 others. The Israeli military described this attack as a “targeted assassination operation” aimed at Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr.

Sadly, 42 bodies were found in eastern Khan Younis. They say that at least 255 Palestinians have been killed during the nine-day Israeli army ground operation in the southern city.

Overall, at least 39,400 people have been killed and 90,996 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza. On October 7, Hamas-led attacks in Israel resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,139 people, with more than 200 people taken captive.

This is an unfortunate situation. Many innocent people, including small children, suffer very much in this situation. The reported high number of casualties and injuries highlights the severe humanitarian impact.

We all hope that this situation will change for the better
