Channing Tatum has never shied away from sharing his want to play Gambit in a live-action movie. He was very nearly getting it into production, but the studio’s disapproval of a Gambit movie caused the preparations to collapse.
Well, Tatum’s early life was far from the red-carpet glamour of Hollywood. Raised in a working-class family, he worked several odd jobs before really making it big into the entertainment business. His athleticism and good looks gave him his first major job as a dancer, so he worked briefly as a stripper in Tampa, Florida under the name “Chan Crawford.”. This phase in his life later influenced the 2012 box-office hit “Magic Mike,” in which Tatum starred but was also one of its producers.
“Gambit’s my favorite. I’m from New Orleans, around that area. My dad’s from New Orleans, and I like to do a Cajun accent. I could do it for real. No knock-on Taylor Kitsch, though, ‘cause I actually like his Gambit, but I’ve always lived around Cajun people.”
Recently he said like this on his dream character.
One of the most popular X-Men characters is Gambit. With his smooth-talking personality, inimitable Cajun accent, and charging objects with kinetic energy—usually playing cards, which are then launched like explosive projectiles—Gambit has won hearts everywhere. In the 1990s, Gambit had been rivaling the favorite character of the fans through his confusing background of being a reformed thief, his passionate love towards Rogue, and his morally gray past.
Itself, the X-Men series is one of the cornerstones of Marvel Comics, focusing on the offbeat group of mutants fighting for peace and equality in a world frightened by their existence yet full of hate toward them.
